Cotton Murder Tampere
The colored cloth is draped lovingly over the person lying underneath, the contours of their face visible under the fabric. But there is no rise and fall in the cloth, as the person underneath is no longer breathing. The next day, the newspaper headlines title the tragedy “The Cotton Murder”.
Petri, the husband of the Pori cotton mill factory manager Veronika, has been murdered. The case has left the whole town in shock: did somebody resent the factory manager, who has a reputation for being headstrong and ambitious? The couple’s home shows no signs pointing to loving matrimony, but neither does it show signs pointing to homicide. It is time for the detectives to do their work, and the next place under investigation is the factory manager’s own office.
