What is an escape room?

In an escape room your team of 2-6 players has an hour to solve all the mysteries and puzzles of a locked room. Once you solve one puzzle, you get a new clue that helps you with other locks, keys, puzzles and clues. After finishing all the puzzles and solving the mystery of the room, you also find your way out.

Who comes up with these rooms?

All the games at Mysteeri are 100% designed and crafted here in Finland, the puzzles and the stories are invented by the staff at Mysteeri.

Is playing safe?

Escape rooms at Mysteeri are safe and you can always exit the room if you want to. Even if the game host were not there, you would still be able to exit the room if needed. Each of our locations has also been inspected and follows safety regulations.

Before the game

Do I need to prepare for the game?

You don’t need to prepare - you have everything you need inside your head. However, it’s a good idea not to forget your glasses if you need them. You will be given clear instructions before the game. The game won’t make you messy or sweaty, so you can arrive in casual or more formal clothes.

Why do I need to arrive 10 minutes before the game starts?

The players need to arrive at the location 10 minutes before the game starts so that we have time to give you all the required information. In the room, your team has 60 minutes, but it is good to reserve 1.5 hours for the whole visit. Once you are done playing, it’s good to reserve 5-10 minutes for a group photo, feedback on the game and going through any questions you might have left after the game.

Can children play with adults?

Yes they can, taking into account our age limits. Our general recommended age limit is 12 years (apart from a few exceptions), but this can be adjusted on a case-to-case basis.

Can we deviate from the recommended group size of 2-6 players per room?

The group size at Mysteeri escape room games is always 2-6 players for several reasons, two of the most important being safety and the gaming experience. Regarding safety, we want to offer the players enough room to move in the room. Regarding the optimal gaming experience, we don’t recommend groups of over five players. The most optimal size in our games is 3-4 people, which we find gives the best gaming experience as each player has enough to do. You can inquire about exceptions to the recommended group sizes directly from our locations.

How can I pay for the game?

You pay for the game at the location after the game by debit or credit card. Please note that we do not accept cash. Businesses can also pay by invoice, with a 6 euro invoicing surcharge. We also accept gift cards from Mysteeri, Elämyslahjat and Gift4You, culture vouchers from Smartum, Edenred and Tyky+, as well as the mobile apps ePassi and Eazybreak.

How can I change the number of players in my booking?

If the number of players in a team changes, you don’t have to let us know beforehand, unless it goes over the maximum limit of players for the room. The cost of the game will be based on the number of people who participate in the game. However, if the number of rooms that you reserve changes, we ask you to inform us at least 48 hours before the game.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel an escape room you have booked 48 hours before the game either via email or by calling the location where the game is booked.

During the game

Can I drink alcohol during the game?

You will need your wits and a clear mind to solve the puzzles in an escape room, so we recommend that you take this into account when coming to play. We also do not allow alcohol on our premises. We reserve the right to ban intoxicated customers entry to our locations to ensure the safety of the other players as well as the game hosts.

What if more people show up than planned?

If only the number of players in a single team changes, it’s not necessary to notify us as long as it doesn’t exceed the room’s maximum capacity. Payment will be charged on-site for the participants who actually play. However, if the number of rooms you’ve booked changes, we kindly ask that you notify us at least 2 days in advance. This applies, for example, when changing competition rooms into a single game room.

Is the game accessible?

Our premises are not 100% accessible, as some places in the rooms might be tight or the objects placed higher up. Not all of our locations have an elevator or an accessible access from the street. However, with some arrangements made in advance, we have so far had some players in wheelchairs play our games in Kuopio, Mikkeli and Tampere. So, if you wish to make some special arrangements or just inquire about the possibilities, you can contact our locations.

Can I watch my friends play from a viewing area?

Unfortunately we do not offer the possibility for you to view others playing the game.

What happens if the time runs out?

The walls collapse and hot lava pours from the ceiling onto the players… Well, since Finnish legislation doesn’t quite allow that, after an hour has passed the game host will come and let the players out of the room. The game host also keeps an eye on the room during the whole game, so the game can be stopped at any time if needed.

Are the games only playable in Finnish?

Apart from a few exceptions, all of our games are also playable in English. If you want your game in English, please mention that in your booking.
