In the Amuri district of Tampere, something strange is going on. Mothers deface school buildings, skiers sprinkle sand on the ski tracks, politicians sabotage railways. Different times, places and perpetrators - but the crimes still have something in common. An unnamed cruel streak, the presence of which one can sense but which one cannot find.
If you really want to solve a crime in the city, the best information can be found in the darkest courtyards from the right people. However, when these crimes are brought up, even the chattiest informants clam up. Even after lengthy persuasion and money changing hands, the only information given is that something evil is going on. Something without a name. Finally, in one back alley, the following words are spat out: “The Witch of Amuri”.
This name helps connect some pieces, but a lot is still left unsolved. The question of “Where?”, however, now can finally be answered. A careful search of the Amuri district in Tampere leads to the intersection of Näsilinnankatu and Puutarhakatu, to a black apartment building plagued with crime.
